He can be taught...

He did the right thing. The Captain is safe. The pirates are dead.

We on the Right can question his motives, his timing, the political angle & make a big deal about it…but it’s wasted energy & diminishes us; makes us look like the Bush-hating Left. So don’t do it. Please.

There was a crisis. It needed to be handled quickly & fiercely, showing the world that America will not tolerate such. The rest of the world can continue to pay ransoms if they choose. They can continue to be held hostage by rogues & pirates, but we will not.

The concentric circles of this action will show in time, & we can follow them, commenting when necessary. The crucial point, though, is that he did the right thing. He allowed our best & finest-trained to care of business in searing fashion. Hallelujah!

There’s a lot to be thankful for, folks: 1) We have the world’s most brilliantly trained military personnel – three shots, in the DARK, perfection. Wow. 2) Our President is the most Left-wing liberal we’ve ever had, but in a pinch - he can be taught.

Thank you, Navy Seals for your courageous & outstanding service. What would we do without you? Thank you, Mr. President for going against your superior judgment & doing the right thing.

Now, I’m off to make some posters. I’ve got a Tea Party to attend…

Amen, Amen, Amen.

Altho I did get a chuckle out of how the press didn't immediately say they were SEALs - but anybody who can read between the lines knew.

I'll give him kudos for the green light on those shots - definitely.

I agree. The captain is safe and only the bad guys paid this go around.

Thank You U.S. Navy for being in harms way 24/7.

I don't understand the MSM. Why they praise Obama for doing something that the Navy did? He did nothing, and shouldn't be praised for the courage to let the Navy do their jobs, those that were trained to do.

I will take pictures at the San Antonio Tea party and post them on my blog.

A big salute to the Seals. But will the Obamanation have what it takes to follow up this action?

Mel - anybody who was awake knew it was Seals, right? :)

USA - ditto on the thank you

Cristina - of course they're giving him credit, no matter what he does. This time he did the right thing. Frankly, I think he played the political angle - he had a Win/Win on this one & he knew it. (Went against his 'superior judgment' & did what was best for himself politically. It just happened to be the right thing.) Of course he shouldn't be praised for what we expect him to do, but neither should we slam him just to be contrary. That's all.

Bluepit - I'll post some too!

Fuzz - that's a wait 'n see, isn't it?

Thanks all for coming by~

No question he did the right thing and we're all happy at the way it turned out, but I love the way they keep trying to gently turn the attantion away from the Navy and on to the Obamessiah.

Truth be told, this was pretty much of a no-brainer. There was no upside to not signing off on the plan to take the pirates out. Otherwise...

I wasn't clear. He did nothing. Not the right thing, not the wrong thing, but nothing. It was his job to do nothing in this case, because of the case the captain was in. He suppose to sign papers when the Army/Navy is in combat, not in this case. It is in the Navy code what the Navy should do in these kind of cases, so Obama did the same thing that you and me did: nothing.

President BO AUTHORIZED the Navy Seals to do what needed to be done.

Of the Seals we can be very proud.

First I thought you are talking about the dog...

My authorization is in the mail....it weights just about the same.

Thank you, Mr. President for going against your superior judgment & doing the right thing.Sorry, but isn't this a silly statement since he obviously used his judgment, superior or not, in doing the right thing? Amusing to see the President criticized and praised in a single sentence of 15 words.

Susannah, I replied to your comment at my blog.

I hope he can be taught, Susannah........let us know about your Tea Party!
The People's Republic of Santa Monica had one but it wasn't well attended..we didn't even get out of the car because it was only another 20 minutes till it was finished as we had meetings that delayed us and the parking's terrible there, but we DID honk and wave.

Jim - "Amusing to see the President criticized and praised in a single sentence of 15 words."

Dear Jim, 'amusing' is the whole point, but I guess it was lost on you, friend. As much as I don't like his policies, I couldn't give Mr. O. the satisfaction of a straight forward compliment w/ no strings attached. It's a penchant toward sarcastic nuance that I seem to be developing...
Sorry you didn't get it! Maybe that means that I did it right?

Z - glad you were at least able to honk your support! We had LOTS of honkers & wavers too! :)

Sorry, Jim. I'd like to read your reply to my comment, but your link takes me to a blog that hasn't been active since 1-17-09. I'm sure I didn't go to the right place...
