Things that make you go hmmm...?

Why is it that recent 'Occupy' assemblies are being hailed with such respect & journalistic seriousness, lending them the legitimacy of the "Arab Spring." While...in a parallel galaxy, far, far away, 'Tea party' assemblies were & are lambasted, ridiculed, maligned, besmirched by all manner of media & high profile politicians alike.

Freedom of speech & freedom of assembly, indeed.

(Hmmm...I think I smell a rat...)

Oh, Canada! (We don't like your healthcare.)

We've heard Michael Moore, et. al., rant & rave about how "wonderful" socialized medicine is; say like, in Canada.

Really??

Apparently not, according to Canadians:

(gets real interesting around minute 10:00)

Why can't we be more like Canada, eh?

No thanks, Mr. Obama.

Pamela Geller: We Won - Now What?

November 07, 2010
We Won - Now What?
By Pamela Geller

The Republican win on Tuesday was far larger than the historic takeback of 1994, the stunning rebuke of Bill Clinton that subsequently forced a chastised president to enact welfare reform (a flying-pig moment). On Tsunami Tuesday, the Republicans won more seats in the House than at any time since 1948 -- 65 seats, the biggest swing by either party in the 62 years since then, along with another six seats in the Senate. We changed the world at the state level, completely flipping 18 state legislatures, including North Carolina, which hasn't seen a Republican majority since 1870. The Republicans gained over 500 legislative seats. Republicans picked up at least 10 governorships, giving them more than 30. Think about that.

Even the sparse wins the subversive left managed to pull out on Tuesday were riddled with chicanery, cheating, union payoffs, and the buying of votes with "free lunches." Harry Reid's systemic corruption garnered a win funded by millions of dollars from public-sector unions. It was all in the game. Same for California -- a state from which decent, hardworking Americans (aka Republicans) have been fleeing, a state destroyed by a union choke hold.

The stakes could not have been higher or more serious in the triumph of the rational on Tuesday. But despite the voter fraud, the SEIU/ACORN thugocracy, and the illegitimate tactics, the people spoke, and the people won. Now what? We are done with big government. We are done with recklessly stealing huge private-sector wealth. We are done being taxed half to death, our future leveraged and our competitive edge destroyed.

Obama still doesn't get it. Obama's tone at his press conference on Wednesday was still contemptuous of the American people and shocking in terms of simple math. He had the audacity to say this: "We should be able to agree now that it makes no sense for China to have better rail systems than us, and Singapore having better airports than us. And we just learned that China now has the fastest supercomputer on Earth. That used to be us. They're making investments, because they know those investments will pay off over the long term."

Singapore and China are free-market economies -- laissez-faire capitalism (though the Chinese people are politically repressed, which is why China will ultimately fail). So here we have Obama whining about more successful countries that are successful because of capitalism while driving America to the failed European model of socialism, Marxism, and serfdom.

In Obama's big-government America, the conditions in which free men produce, invent, and prosper quickly deteriorate due to government taxation and regulation. Big government has been encroaching on our lives for decades now, and with Obama, the bottom falls out.

Higher taxes imposed on the rich (and the semi-rich) come out of their investment capital (i.e., their savings). These taxes mean less investment, i.e., less production, fewer jobs, higher prices, etc. By the time the "rich" lower their standard of living, those who work in their companies or subcontract with them will be gone, along with their savings and their spouses' jobs -- and no power in the world (no economic power) will be able to revive the dead industries. There will be no such power left. (In this I am paraphrasing Ayn Rand's words from decades ago.)

The Concorde was going to be the future of air travel, in which we'd bop from place to place in half the time. Now the Concorde is defunct. Kaput. Much like the environment for producers and businessmen, who are the "villains" of Democrats, statists, collectivists, moochers, and looters.

This is the price of force. This is the price of coercion. This is the price of statism. This is the price of big government. The very idea of America has been subsumed by an enslavement mentality.

Every dollar the government robs from business, from the individual people, is a dollar that won't be invested in the private sector. Wealth won't be created, jobs won't be created, entrepreneurs and businessmen will be deprived of capital, etc. The United States was founded on the principle of individual rights -- government was designed to be small. The objective of the government was defense -- protection of individual rights.

What has the government done with the untold wealth they looted from the American people other than suck much-needed capital out of our free society to pay off their thugs, crooks, corrupt organizations, and get-out-the-vote community organizations?

Government is not the answer -- it destroys everything it touches. We must take back the culture, because politics is merely a reflection of the culture. The left has the culture in a choke hold. They demonize the successful and hardworking and exalt failures, moochers, and looters -- an inverted moral priority.

We are done with lies. We are done with "It's Bush's fault." We are done with "Obama inherited the second Great Depression." No. Obama's policies led to a great coming depression. Obama talks about Bush spending? The utter gall. Bush was Jack Benny to Obama's profligate Mack Daddy Warbucks. The left can spin it any way they like, but the economic emergency of 2008 was a direct result of Democrat entitlement/financial policy: Carter's Community Investment Act (CIA), Clinton's sub-prime push, and the ensuing Barney Frank Freddie Mac/Fanny Mae plunder. I do not fault Bush war expenditures. We are at war with a ruthless, bloodthirsty, savage ideology that has no humanity. No expense can be spared in defeating jihad. Obama's sniveling like a little girl falls on deaf ears when you consider the trillions he stole from us for no reason but to pad the pockets of his shadow government.

Our victory is the beginning of the forty years' war -- who is with me?

We will repeal national socialist ObamaCare.

We will destroy all old propaganda media. New media is steamrolling over the dead media walking.

We will repeal the financial reform bill that scapegoated business for the abject failures of the Fed.

We will take back the college campuses.

We will get on our children's school boards and, just like in Texas, change the whitewashed history books and review the syllabi.

Get government out of our lives. Dismantle big government. Piece by piece.

Deregulate business. Piece by piece. Sector by sector. Unshackle the motor of the country. Free the producer.

We will volunteer in homeschooling networks. We will donate and offer our services in our respective areas of expertise.

Unshackle America. Repeal "hate crime" legislation. All crime is hate. This is an attack on free speech. Islamic supremacists will invoke "hate speech" to kill free speech.

We will expose and prosecute the subversives like CAIR, ISNA, ICNA, ISNA, and all Muslim Brotherhood fronts whose stated aim is "eliminating and destroying Western civilization from within."

We will call our mortal enemy by its rightful name: Islamic jihad.

We will turn the Muslim Brotherhood into the Muslim Little-Girlhood.

We will stop funding Ground Zero Mosque Imam Rauf's fundraising junkets to the Middle East.

We will stop importing whole Muslim communities from Somalia under the "U.N.'s Resettlement Program."

We will ridicule, polarize, and render irrelevant the dogmatic, evil leftists.

We will crush them with our logic and reason and concrete facts.

We will demand reasoned discourse and laugh at their ad hominem attacks.

RINOs will not be tolerated. Leave the party, join the traitors. Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins, take note.

Drill, baby, drill.

We will raise the voting age to 21. Military excluded. If "children" are still on their parents health insurance at 26, maybe 21 is too low.

We will mandate trips for key liberals in leadership to Iran, Somalia, Darfur, et al., to see the results of clitorectomies, stonings, and gender apartheid.

We will arrange for youth summer camps in Somalia and Darfur for Obama's youth corps and tell them it's the Peace Corps for the lefties.

We will demand accountability from the United Nations or withdraw from it.

We will save Israel from Islamic anti-Semitism.

We will disqualify the Organization of the Islamic Conference at the U.N. until there is an Organization of the Christian Conference and Organization of the Jewish Conference.

This is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning. - Winston Churchill (1874-1965)

"Overwhelm the System" a la Cloward & Piven...

A new friend of mine, "PurpleVoter" commented below on the socialist 'tax & spend' agenda:

"I have a problem with progressives using statistics to support their tax and spend agenda when the supposedly negative aspects of the stats were created/driven by the very policies they are being used to support. Think of it this way: you say the poor are becoming poorer because the rich haven't been taxed enough over the past twenty years. But what has happened to entitlement spending over the same period? Why is taxation the culprit and not entitlements?"

Excellent question. I believe we know the answer.
Please - keep reading:

Obama's agenda: Overwhelm the system

*emphases mine

Rahm Emanuel cynically said, "You never want a crisis to go to waste." It is now becoming clear that the crisis he was referring to is Barack Obama's presidency.

Obama is no fool. He is not incompetent. To the contrary, he is brilliant. He knows exactly what he's doing. He is purposely overwhelming the U.S. economy to create systemic failure, economic crisis and social chaos -- thereby destroying capitalism and our country from within.

Barack Obama is my college classmate (Columbia University, class of '83). As Glenn Beck correctly predicted from day one, Obama is following the plan of Cloward & Piven (link mine), two professors at Columbia University. They outlined a plan to socialize America by overwhelming the system with government spending and entitlement demands. Add up the clues below. Taken individually they're alarming. Taken as a whole, it is a brilliant, Machiavellian game plan to turn the United States into a socialist/Marxist state with a permanent majority that desperately needs government for survival ... and can be counted on to always vote for bigger government. Why not? They have no responsibility to pay for it.

-- Universal health care. The health care bill had very little to do with health care. It had everything to do with unionizing millions of hospital and health care workers, as well as adding 15,000 to 20,000 new IRS agents (who will join government employee unions). Obama doesn't care that giving free health care to 30 million Americans will add trillions to the national debt. What he does care about is that it cements the dependence of those 30 million voters to Democrats and big government. Who but a socialist revolutionary would pass this reckless spending bill in the middle of a depression?

-- Cap and trade. Like health care legislation having nothing to do with health care, cap and trade has nothing to do with global warming. It has everything to do with redistribution of income, government control of the economy and a criminal payoff to Obama's biggest contributors. Those powerful and wealthy unions and contributors (like GE, which owns NBC, MSNBC and CNBC) can then be counted on to support everything Obama wants. They will kick-back hundreds of millions of dollars in contributions to Obama and the Democratic Party to keep them in power. The bonus is that all the new taxes on Americans with bigger cars, bigger homes and businesses helps Obama "spread the wealth around."

-- Make Puerto Rico a state. Why? Who's asking for a 51st state? Who's asking for millions of new welfare recipients and government entitlement addicts in the middle of a depression?Certainly not American taxpayers. But this has been Obama's plan all along. His goal is to add two new Democrat senators, five Democrat congressman and a million loyal Democratic voters who are dependent on big government.

-- Legalize 12 million illegal immigrants. Just giving these 12 million potential new citizens free health care alone could overwhelm the system and bankrupt America. But it adds 12 million reliable new Democrat voters who can be counted on to support big government. Add another few trillion dollars in welfare, aid to dependent children, food stamps, free medical, education, tax credits for the poor, and eventually Social Security.

-- Stimulus and bailouts. Where did all that money go? It went to Democrat contributors, organizations (ACORN), and unions -- including billions of dollars to save or create jobs of government employees across the country. It went to save GM and Chrysler so that their employees could keep paying union dues. It went to AIG so that Goldman Sachs could be bailed out (after giving Obama almost $1 million in contributions). A staggering $125 billion went to teachers (thereby protecting their union dues). All those public employees will vote loyally Democrat to protect their bloated salaries and pensions that are bankrupting America. The country goes broke, future generations face a bleak future, but Obama, the Democrat Party, government, and the unions grow more powerful. The ends justify the means.

-- Raise taxes on small business owners, high-income earners, and job creators. Put the entire burden on only the top 20 percent of taxpayers, redistribute the income, punish success, and reward those who did nothing to deserve it (except vote for Obama). Reagan wanted to dramatically cut taxes in order to starve the government. Obama wants to dramatically raise taxes to starve his political opposition.

With the acts outlined above, Obama and his regime have created a vast and rapidly expanding constituency of voters dependent on big government; a vast privileged class of public employees who work for big government; and a government dedicated to destroying capitalism and installing themselves as socialist rulers by overwhelming the system.

Add it up and you've got the perfect Marxist scheme -- all devised by my Columbia University college classmate Barack Obama.

MY hometown Tea Party Protester PUNCHED!

(...and btw, it's all GWB's fault!!)

Folks, it doesn't get any closer to me than if I had been there myself.
Saw this on Fox & Friends this morning:

My ears perked when I heard "North Carolina;" & I remind myself to research it. I go to my email & find this news story in a bundle from my local GOP headquarters folks. (Link gives much more info. than FNC video.)

Then I realize - these are MY people! I KNOW Nathan Tabor! I also know some of the others in the video. I have sat on their picnic blankets @ Tea Parties. They are not extremists. They are not the 'fringe Right.' They are average citizens (moms, dads, business owners, farmers, librarians) of my county who are not taking the G'ment steamroller lying down.

Bravo to Mr. Tabor! Bravo to the rest who are exercising our right to speak out against the over-reach of G'ment.
If not now, than never, friends. Do NOT remain silent!

The fight for our nation doesn't get any closer than this.

Greece: Time to wean? Prepare for scream...

Hi friends ~
I've just come from Z's blog where there's a lively discussion, part of which is an argument (btwn. Frogburger & Ducky) about the cause of unemployment in Europe. And still another weave of the thread sports this bit about terrorism perpetrated by (guess who) 'Muslim youth' in suburban Paris - nightly car burnings, muggings, etc. Just garden variety crime; no harm, no foul... Hardly worth reporting, right?

Hardly.

My logic tells me there must be some correlation between European unemployment, civil unrest & Socialism (& maybe toss in a little terrorism, just for kicks?). As I see it, European-style Socialism has primed those pumps for decades (providing various social programs -look Ma, free health care!) and paved the way to this civil unrest.

I don't claim to be an especially business-headed thinker, but seems to me that governments who give People everything they need are CREATING their own cesspool of civil chaos. When a People is disincentivized toward striving for a better life: don't bother working, you'll still have everything you need (didn't Queen Pelosi say this recently?). Pursue your long-held passions! Don't worry about being productive. But should you choose to work and be productive...well, sorry. We'll swipe your wealth & spread it around. (Everybody's gotta eat, right?)

Sooner or later something's gonna give way: the Government cannot "sustain" that kind of behavior for long with other people's money. And then, everybody's gonna get @#$$%!, the 'haves' & the 'swiped-froms.' This is why Socialism is bad, bad, bad folks. It goes against the grain of our human need for being productive, and it ultimately sucks the life out of it's victims until there's no drive, productivity, fulfillment, jobs & no money left.

Don't believe me?

NEWS FLASH from Greece: from Investors.com
"Policy Failure: Greece was told that if it wanted a bailout, it needed to consider privatizing its government health care system. So tell us again why the U.S. is following Europe's welfare state model.

The requirement... is a tacit admission that national health care programs are unsustainable. Along with transportation and energy, the bailout group...wants the Greek government to remove 'the state from the marketplace in crucial sectors.'

This is not some cranky or politically motivated demand. It is a condition based on the ugly reality of government medicine. The Times reports that economists — not right-wingers opposed to health care who want to blow up Times Square — say liberalizing 'the health care industry would help bring down prices in these areas, which are among the highest in Europe.'

Of course most of the media have been largely silent about the health care privatization measure for Greece, as it conflicts with their universal, single-payer health care narrative."

And we ALL know what's happening in Greece right now over the 'austerity programs' (read: drastic cuts in bloated, treasury-sucking social programs). It only stood to reason, though...Attach a People to the government breast & nurse it for decades, sooner or later it'll be time to wean. And then the People are gonna screech like that squalling baby in the night who has been given a sippie cup instead of the breast. Only they'll be a lot bigger. And instead of cups they'll be heaving cocktails - molotav variety.

I quote again from the investor's.com article: "So tell us again why the U.S. is following Europe's welfare state model."

Well??

Reasonable question. No need for an indepth analysis of Entity Life History or Maximum Cardinality. Maybe I'm a business-headed thinker after all?

Nah, just plain old common sense.

No Public Option? No problem!

No public option? No problem...Have we got a plan for you!

Blogs who oppose Gov't interference in our lives have gentle readers who repeatedly, earnestly insist that Obamacare is not socialized healthcare, because there is no 'public option.' Our readers are deluded enough to believe that simply stating a thing, wishing it were true would make it so.

I say poppycock! I say that Obamacare, though it has no overt 'public option,' is specifically designed to -in time- leave NO OTHER OPTION BUT the public option.

And here's why, directly from a dear CPA friend of ours who emailed with his grave concerns about this ghastly new law:

My wife's firm consults with an independent economic analyst out of state. Her firm met with these analysts to tease throught the new healthcare law. What they said is scary.

(Sus & Mr. Sus, this truly is an objective group of analysts - many times their analysis indicates democrat's proposals are indeed good for the economy. That ticks me off b/c the group has a solid history of prognosticating the effect of legislation on the economy. I never want to admit that the Dems could be right on something. Just trying to be honest...)

Anyway, based on their analysis, this law virtually ensures an eventual total government takeover of healthcare.

Don't believe it?

Consider any family who currently has private health insurance:

The employer pays $8,000/year of their insurance costs. The employee pays $6,000, for a total of $14,000 of "insurance."

#1 - Eventually, employers will figure they save $6,000/year by dropping employee health coverage & paying the $2,000/person Gov't fine. (The best argument against #1 is that status quo is 'slow to change,' but slow does not equal never. Another argument is that employers will continue offering good insurance to keep good employees. But honestly, where is the Wal-Mart employee going for better benefits? For professional firms, when the first big firm decides to drop insurance - and they will, b/c they profit $6,000/person per year- then the rest must follow to stay competitive.)

#2 - Next, employers will convince employees that dropping insurance is okay.

How, you ask, does the company sell it as o.k.? Ahem, allow me:

Employer: We're dropping health insurance, but it's really okay.
Employee: What the heck?? I'm going somewhere else to work!
Employer: Not so fast. Just listen. We pay $8000/yr for your benefits. What'dya say we drop those, pay $2000 Gov't fine.
Employee: Okay, so far you've saved yourself $6000 at my expense.
Employer: Hold on; I'm not finished. The company will take $4,000 of the savings & give you $2,000!
Employee: Wow! I just got a raise! Wait...$2000 won't cover the cost of privately purchased health insurance...
Employer: Okay, but remember, you were already paying $6,000 in premiums. So you can
a) add the $2000 & find insurance for $8,000 a year. Or - better yet -
b) Take $2,000 & pay the Govt. $695 penalty for lack of insurance. Then
c) Use the $6,000 that you were paying in premiums (plus what you paid in co-pays, etc.) to cover medical visits & Rx's.
Employee: Oh, I see. I still might come out ahead, huh?
Employer: You bet! In most years, you will come out ahead - way ahead! And in the years when someone gets sick, gee, let's see - you just go get insurance. Insurance companies have to take you now whenever you want to sign up!
Employee: You gotta deal, boss! I sure am glad we're not running an insurance company! We'd be in a heap 'a trouble!
Employer: You said it. I'm happy to be in the flower pot business!

#3 - Where does that leave the country? With all the insurance companies bankrupt, so everyone will HAVE to go to the
Government for insurance. Which is what the @#$%'s were after to begin with.

And you'll never convince me otherwise.

And don't EVEN get me started on the taxes.

So you see, when I make a statement like: 'Obamacare is specifically designed to - in time - leave no other option but the public option,' it's based on solid, reasoned, professional, objective financial analysis. Our dear readers who insist otherwise have only their own f00t stamping insistence & ignorance of facts that are as plain as the nose on their face.

Prelude to a Revolution

They say History repeats itself...

THIS DAY March 22, 1765 the British Parliment passed the Stamp Act, imposing an oppressive, direct tax against the American Colonies. They did it to offset the costs of the military endeavor of the King in the colonies.

Wicked offense was taken by the colonists, that taxation from the Crown was directly imposed on the people - not in order to simply provide a loose regulatory structure for commerce - but to raise money for the Crown, for something the People didn't want, didn't need, & certainly did not wish to pay for.

Some colonists fell to despair, believing that they had no recourse. But by May 30th of the same year, 4 of Patrick Henry's Stamp Act Resolutions were passed:

1) Demanding their rights as citizens be preserved, and
2) Insisting the people's voices against oppressive taxation be heard & acknowledged, lest their 'ancient constitution' be obliterated.

This courageous 'sedition' led to the Stamp Act's repeal on March 18th, 1766, less than a year later.

Oppression must seek the bursting of Springtime. And it can be fought. And it can be defeated. Will we cower & fall into despair, as some colonists did? Thank God they didn't. And thank God we have their same fighting spirit within us. Will we remember? Will we call upon it?

If not now, never.

It is our imperative, toward our posterity.
We have received our calling.

The Fence Test: which side are you on?

Hi Friends! Here's a 'test' for you. Got this the other day through email. Read on & see on which 'side of the fence' you're sitting:

The Fence Test
If a conservative doesn't like guns, he doesn't buy one.

If a liberal doesn't like guns, he wants all guns outlawed, AND he makes you turn yours in to the Police.

If a conservative is a vegetarian, she doesn't eat meat.

If a liberal is a vegetarian, she wants meat products banned for everyone, & tries to guilt you into losing your appetite.

If a conservative is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation.

A liberal wonders who is going to take care of him, AND tries to make you feel guilty for your success.

If a conservative doesn't like a talk show host, she switches stations.

The liberal demands that those they don't like be shut down; 1st Amendment is only for them, you see.

If a conservative is a non-believer, he doesn't go to church.

A liberal non-believer wants to silence any mention of God or religion, unless it is practiced by a slim minority, of course.

If a conservative decides she needs health care, she shops for it, or chooses a job that provides it.
A liberal demands that all of us pay for hers.

If a conservative reads this, he'll smile a knowing smile & have a good laugh.

A liberal will click off in a huff, or post a snide comment it because he's "offended."

So, there's the fence. Which side are you on?

In which salient HealthCare talk ensues...

Cruising around the blogs, I landed at an interesting discussion @ Left Coast Rebel. His brief post is a solid effort to tell Conservatives to buck up, put on our thinking caps & keep fighting against ObamaCare. Good thoughts & good timing. Nice appetizer. The main course came in the comment section (as it so often does @ Get the Big Idea).
After much volley, one commenter says:

"You have already determined, since no one here ever says otherwise, that universal health care is an obligation of society for those who are young, poor, disabled, seniors, or veterans..."

...um, excuse me. But I couldn't let that stand. My response:

"I'll beg to differ with ya. Disabled, Seniors, Veterans absolutely!!

But the young? That's a PARENT's/FAMILY's responsibility. Do I sound crass? Perhaps. Would I allow an indigent child to go untreated? No, but there MUST be some consequence for PARENTS FAILING their RESPONSIBILITIES!! Trust me. I've worked with the indigent population [in several places] & here's what I heard, "I'll have as many kids as I want to. The gov'ment will take care of me. They can't tell me to stop!" Ver batim from a former client.

...I AM that parent who chooses NOT to purchase, go, play, do things in order that we fulfill OUR OBLIGATION to our own children & provide for them...We buy independent insurance, paying dearly for it (it's like a second house payment). Got that? It's MY OBLIGATION!!!! [Not society's.]

Nanny state mentality is partly what has gotten us into this mess - & this [HealthCare] bill wants to give us more of it...Give me a break, & pass the buck."

Then, the salient voice of a new friend elucidates the issue for all:

"There is no social contract to pay other people's bills. Obamacare is a government mandated system that is supposed to help less than 10% of our population by pushing us down the road to not only socialized medicine, but socialism in general. Unwanted obligations amount to indentured servitude. That is what you condemn us to, all for a small percentage of the population.

This is the same religious fervor that espouses the end of the world due to anthropogenic climate change [Global Warming]. We now know that is a hoax.

As usual, socialists pitch to the lowest common denominator with emotion rather than rationale. Most people in this country oppose this plan...Under the current legislation proposed, this would change just about everything in an effort to get people on the government dole. It's ludicrous...

...Traditionally people got medical insurance to protect against bankruptcy and destitution from a catastrophic illness or injury. It wasn't meant to pay for every little hang nail and stubbed toe. Medical insurance has in fact impeded the free market that we used have and has driven costs up.

Lastly, you cannot insure health. All of us will die eventually, no matter what care one has. The insurance only mitigates financial risk...at the expense of others. Spreading the risks out further, through one plan, will only serve to cause even more restrictions on service and quality in an effort to contain costs.

That is why you see in countries with a single payer system, after a certain age, the wait for services grows arithmetically and in some cases is infinite. The end result of Obamacare, if it passes, is that the fabian socialists finally push the cart of capitalism over the edge of the cliff, and they know it, too.

The end game is to reduce humans to the same level as farm animals."

The end.

How could I presume to say more?

Sticky web: Copenhagen, Cap&Trade & Globalization

" 'Now is the time to confront this challenge once and for all,' President-elect Obama said of global warming last November. 'Delay is no longer an option.' It turns out that delay really is an option—the only one that has world-wide support."

Or so says the Wall Street Journal -- Copenhagen’s Collapse: the climate change sequel is a bust . This is welcome news to those of us who wish to remain a sovereign, self-directed nation.

(Pause for editorial gasp: I cannot believe I just typed those words… )

A few weeks ago, I anxiously posted a piece about the dangers of that Copenhagen summit, & followed it with a Part II . Apparently, you & I were not the only ones anxious about the potential for extortion that Copenhagen threatens. The WSJ says, "Mr. Obama bowed to reality and admitted that little of substance will come of the climate-change summit in Copenhagen next month."

That's good news! But don’t close your eyes just yet. One battle down, a philosophical war yet to wage.

Read on: "The environmental lobby is blaming Copenhagen's pre-emptive collapse on the Senate's failure to ram through a cap-and-trade scheme like the House did in June, arguing that 'the world' won't make commitments until the U.S. does... [though] China and India will never be masochistic enough to subject their economies to the West's climate neuroses…The pointlessness of Copenhagen will now become part of Mr. Obama's argument that the Senate must inflict cap and tax on the U.S., as well as a justification for the EPA's nondemocratic carbon crackdown via clean-air regulation. If he and we are lucky, however, the Senate will fail to act too...and the economy will recover faster without the looming burden of higher energy taxes."

Bear with me: Cap & Trade hasn’t gotten much press lately, for all the HealthCare talk. But just wait, friends, it’s coming. One only has to read pieces like Black Star News’ to realize that all these issues are woven together: national sovereignty, climate change, carbon emissions, 'going green,' to effect one overarching outcome: Globalization.

Sound benign enough?

Please. Read the Black Star article. The disdain, envy & utter disgust that the author holds for developed countries is striking. Friends, ‘Globalization’ means binding the West's hands (esp. the U.S.) & siphoning wealth to the Third World. All done through an entity out of our sight & beyond our control -- New World Order orWorld Government. 'Globalization' is code for massive Wealth Redistribution.

Sound familiar?

Climate change, 'going green,' & wealth redistribution are woven together, alright. It’s no accident our political culture has been softening our ear to these phrases for some time. (Makes me think there’s a larger spider weaving the web than we realize…)

No matter. We’re waking up, & I think, hope, pray it’s just in the nick of time. As I said in the close of Part II:

"We have not been 'standing watch.'
And now we know better. It's time to live better.
For it's not only our own pulse at risk,
but the heartbeat of our very Nation that depends on it."

Defeat ObamaCare: Devil's in the Details

Do you wonder how ObamaCare can be defeated before it kills our country? Me too.

Do you feel powerless to stop it, save badgering your Congressional leaders? Me too.

An excellent article by Fox News analyst Dick Morris gives us hope, friends, AND INSTRUCTIONS!

If you’re reading this, you’re part of the blogging world. If you’re a blogger, you have a certain amount of power in this fight, believe it or not. We each have a sphere of influence to affect the outcome of this process, & insure the defeat of the monstrosity that is Government overhaul & Socializing our Healthcare system.

Dick Morris tells us the Devil’s in the details, & tells us how to use them:

Our task is to reduce public support for the bill by publicizing its provisions, notably:

1. The $400 billion cut in Medicare.

2. The inevitable scarcity that will result from the addition of 35 million new patients with no new doctors or nurses.

3. The fine on the uninsured of 2.5 percent of their income if they don't buy insurance.

4. The high cost of these mandatory insurance policies ($15,000 per family).

5. The low level of subsidy available for the uninsured (only after they pay 8-12% of their incomes).

6. The likelihood of a $1,700 increase in the average family's premiums.

7. The possibility of up to five years in prison for failing to buy insurance or pay the fine.

8. The taxation of medical devices like pacemakers, wheelchairs, prosthetic limbs, hearing aids, etc.

9. The tax on sick people (increasing the threshold for deducting medical expenses from 7.5 percent to 10 percent of income.

10. The additional fiscal burden on the states of the increase in Medicaid eligibility.

11. The 40 percent tax on health insurance premiums that will effect households earning more than $75,000 by the fifth year of the plan.

We can still win this fight!

Obama Youth??

Friends, by now you've probably heard about the "address" that the President will deliver to the nation's public school children - simultaneously - while they're in school - on Tuesday. For some children, it will be the start of their year. For others, it's the first day back after a Labor Day break. Either way, parents will be caught unawares, uninformed & unable to give/deny permission for their children's participation in this unprecedented 'Presidential address' to the captive audience of our nation's school children.

A few days ago, I went to a luncheon sponsored by Freedomworks where author Mason Weaver & Fmr. Hs. Majority Leader Dick Armey were speaking. They said a lot of things about the state of our government, but the main point that each man stressed? Decide today, Act tomorrow! I had arrived decided (that we must act), but was still perplexed as to what I could actually do...

Next day, I answered my phone to a voice speaking with agonizing urgency, "Have you heard?...This is how these things get started...look at history...Hitler Youth..." It was time to act...

What follows is the exchange I had w/ my school Superintendent. I share it in hopes that, in the slender window between now & 9-8, anyone who can use it & ACT on it, will:

Sent: Wednesday, September 02, 2009 1:59 PM
Subject: President Obama to address school children
Dear Dr. M & Board Members,

Just today, I learned of an address that President Obama is scheduled to make to the nation's public school children on Tuesday, September 8th.

President Obama’s Address to Students Across America September 8, 2009

I would like to know if our School System in taking part by having children K-6 (or older) watch/listen to this address. Please let me know.

From Dr. M: We are working on that using an internet link. I haven't heard whether all the logistics have been worked out. We will be posting something about this on our website home page.

From Dr. M.: It is my understanding that the student message (duration is supposed to be in the 5-7 minute range) will be broadcast at noon next Tuesday. Obviously many of our students will be at lunch and will have to miss it. I am certain that this speech will not be partisan in any way - it will encourage students to do well in school so that our country can remain competitive. I think that you would approve of his message and I would encourage you to watch it on C-Span or come to school. If your children are eating lunch at noon, they won't be watching it.

From me- final response:
Dr. M,

Thank you for your prompt response to my email, and I appreciate your anticipation of my concerns. Whether the President’s “address” is partisan or not is not at issue. (I assume it will not be, having read the curriculum that accompanies it.)

Our country’s current political climate has produced unparalleled Government control in our society, and has raised to high alert suspicions of socialist motivations (& worse). In such a climate, for the President to deliver an unprecedented “address” to every child in the nation’s public schools (w/o parental informed consent, on the day after a holiday break) is inappropriate. It further ignites fears of an intrusive Government “Nanny State”. It also demonstrates abuse of the station of his office against parental authority. Our public school children are a captive audience whose parents have not chosen, nor been informed, nor given permission for their children to participate in this event.

Our family respects the Office of the President, but we demand that the man who holds this office respect the reach of his authority and influence in our daily lives. Further, we find offensive the school system’s lack of the due diligence of informed parental consent in this matter, regardless of the content or duration of the address. Therefore (because we happened to stumble across this knowledge), our children will not be in their school buildings during the President’s “address” on Tuesday.

Thank you again for your timely response to my inquiry...

I'm thankful that my friend came upon her information. I'm thankful that my mind & posture had been prepared by those two fine speakers toward doing something. Mr. Mason had asked of our lunch group, "Are you frightened, or are you motivated? Decide now what your country is going to be, then act to make it happen.

This is our country, friends. It's time to take it back.

Obama: Communist or Not?

Recent discussion in my comment sections argues whether our current President is a Communist (disguised as a Democrat, of course).

It has been interesting, but relatively brief (IMO, because the argument/evidence supporting the assertion overwhelms the any anemic argument refuting it). I, along w/ those such as esteemed Dr. Alan Keyes, charge that Mr. Obama's affinities, his sympathies & his behavior indicate that he is, indeed, communist in his heart of hearts.

So friends, I ask this question: What do you think Mr. Obama's heart & soul response would be (i.e., not what he'd actually say) if someone said to him, "Sir, it's clear you're a Communist."

Would Mr. O think,

"Yes, I'm so glad someone finally noticed!"
or,
"Oh, no! You've got me all wrong! I'll do all in my power to prove I'm not!"

Our friend, Jim says (re: Alan Keyes, 2 posts ago),
"Alan Keyes claiming Obama is a socialist/communist does not make it so. You have no evidence that 'he wants United States of America to become socialist/communist'. Only the rantings of people who hate him."

Only those who hate him? Really Jim? Yes. And we're all racists who just want the man to fail because he's black, right? (So says Ms. Diane Watson, Congresswoman from Los Angeles. )

WRONG! I said to my friend Jim:
"Obama is a socialist...who wants our government to become Communist. He is thus, not because Alan Keyes said so, but because he said so himself, & b/c of the things he has promoted, orchestrated & 'accomplished' in less than 9 months.

I, in fact, believe that Dr. Keyes was too magnanimous in stating simply that Obama is only communist. From what I see, Mr. Obama appears to have fascist desires & drives."

Folks. Do we even know what Communism is? How it puts ultimate power in the hands of the State? How it destroys human ingenuity, drive toward a better life???

Oxford Amer. Dictionary-- Communism: 1) a social system in which property is owned by the community [i.e., the STATE] & each member works for the common benefit. 2) a political doctrine seeking to overthrow capitalism...

Honestly, all I needed to hear was, "I think when you spread the wealth around, everybody's better off..." Wrote a post about it; & it has been downhill ever since.

My new friend, Buck summarizes the revelation of Mr. O's proclivities nicely. Allow me to share:

Buck Ofama said... [all emphases mine]
Jim, you are right that some of us fear what Obama & the Democratic party are doing to America. But you are dead wrong in your assertions that (1) we are ignorant of & mistrust America's great traditions and institutions [democracy] & (2) that there is no evidence that Obama wants the country to be socialist/communist.

It is exactly our understanding of the great history of America that allows us to realize that when the President of the United States (one whose mentor in his youth was a hard line Communist, has been drawn to & closely associated with radical, even terroristic individuals his entire life, who openly supports Socialist policies such as a single payer health care system & a civilian defense force stronger than the military, & who doesn't object to outlandish things like slavery reparations & massive income redistribution),

...when this man appoints cabinet members, czars, & policy consultants who are also avowed communists/radicals (Van Jones, Mark Loyd, Susstein, E. Emmanuel, Holdren, etc.) who openly espouse views such as fundamental opposition of a privately owned media, forced sterilization, admiration of dictators such as Chavez, & numerous other anti-Capitalist & revolutionary Marxist policies - That is what we are righteously afraid of.

These people actually call themselves "community organizers within the federal context". That is not what America is all about. Read the Constitution. Our government should merely be representative of what the people want & believe. It should not be a conduit for one man, even if he's the President, to appoint radicals who use their power & position to agitate & organize people for the furtherance of their own personal beliefs (and get paid my tax dollars to do so).

But it appears to me that you are more angry at our opposition than we are afraid of your man in the White House. Perhaps it is because you subconsciously realize that you & most of the Democratic party have been duped by the Communists. You finally win an election (how could you lose? when the outgoing guy was a disaster, the economy is in shambles, & you have the uber-candidate: a well-spoken, charismatic, half black man that 30% of the electorate has been waiting their whole lives just to cast their vote for along racial lines?) Too bad he just happens to be a Communist.

If he's not, he needs to prove it by reeling in the other Commies in the party that are trying to use this alignment of the stars (control of both chambers and the white house) to push their anti-American agenda. And if he is, well we'll keep trying to stop him until he proves that he's not ---because the evidence says that he is.

But hey, don't take it from me, Buck or even Dr. Alan Keyes.

Do some research. Watch the man. Study not only his words, but the inferences. Read, learn, investigate this President. It hasn't been done so far, but somebody should do it.

It may as well be you.
