Oh man. I don't want Trump in the race but right now he has served to show just how milk-toast all the GOP candidates are. People respond to him because he attacks Obama on the issues, he says what others are too nice to say. We need some candidates who are willing to take the gloves off and expose Obama's lies to the American people, and his far right ideology. We're political junkies. We know about him. But a friend of mine just the other day said she might vote for him again. She said she doesn't know yet, she has to see the candidates and hear "their platforms". As if what Obama has done so far isn't troubling. And that isn't unusual out there. So a candidate who is willing to fight against Obama, not just trot out good ideas is what we need.
My 3 cents.

The thought of the Huckster or Newt scares me. Bachmann I can live with.

BetteJo~ Someone today told me that if Trump runs, it'll be as an Independent. THAT's troubling...but it's so early. I'm like Dick Morris, not counting Trump in yet. --- Anybody who might still vote for BHO is either far Left anyway, or has been living under a rock for 2 years. Ask your friend where her particular rock is...

Fuzz~ I'm w/ you on Huckabee. Nice man, no question; just doesn't strike me as Pres. material. Tell me, what's wrong w/ Newt? He's so smart...Michelle - LOVE her.

Issues such as his birth certificate? What other issues?

"As if what Obama has done so far isn't troubling."

Like what?

I am so up in the air! I'm enjoying Trump's side show, and of course my favorite, Jeb Bush isn't running, so I'll just wait for the birth certificate!

Boy, is this bad news.

Imagine anybody thinking Huckabee "we need to bring America back to Jesus" could win..that's on VIDEO..the media will slaughter him with that.

If Gingrich wins the nomination, we've got four more years of nightmare from which America not only won't but CAN'T recover.

A cousin of mine lives in CT and had dinner with a big Democrat donor the other night; this donor said his lib buddies are waking up to Obama but will vote for him because "there isn't anyone else".

BetteJo, there are people who STILL think this is all Bush's economy tho he tried to warn AMerica about Fannie and Freddie while Daniel Mudd, dear in the headlight eyes, told the Congressional Black Caucus (with Obama in attendance as a new senator) that EVERYBODY WILL HAVE A HOUSE! Now those poor "everybodys" are the poor with no home, of course.

Wait for Obama's thin skin to allow him to do something that could awaken people real fast....the slipup in TX the other day with that journalist might have snapped him back into carefulness for a while but he's become SO thin skinned, I think he'll cook his own goose, we can only hope.

There's a reason Hucklebee is known as "The Huckster." It seems that nothing good comes out of Arkansas for either party.

I don't think we've see yet who will be the candidate. I'm reminded that at this stage in the last election, Rudy Giuliani was in the lead. He never made it out of the primaries.

Sםrry Susannah, but with the republican candidates you've got, Obama's going to be reelected and the fate of all the republicans will be like that of Mubarak - waiting for the hanging rope.

Gingrich? Impossible. Bachman...maybe so. Huckaby...too much baggage...as with Gingrich.

Bachmann/Snooki 2012 - we get the government we deserve.

"I'll just wait for the birth certificate"

are you people STILL dwelling on this? the 2012 elections is the GOP's to lose, but if you continue to focus on issues like the birth certificate, or nominate any of nutjobs who are currently frontrunners, you're handing victory away. Huckabee seems to be one of the only reasonable ones, and even he wants to hold Americans at gunpoint until they all convert to Christianity. Trump and Bachmann are jokes. the GOP won't get anywhere until they get back some of the substance they used to have and stop defining themselves by ignorance and sensationalism.
