Alrighty, then:
George W. Bush speech after capture of Saddam Hussein:
"The success of yesterday's mission is a tribute to our men and women now serving in Iraq . The operation was based on the superb work of intelligence analysts who found the dictator's footprints in a vast country. The operation was carried out with skill and precision by a brave fighting force. Our servicemen and women and our coalition allies have faced many dangers in the hunt for members of the fallen regime, and in their effort to bring hope and freedom to the Iraqi people. Their work continues, and so do the risks. Today, on behalf of the nation, I thank the members of our Armed Forces and I congratulate 'em."
Barack Obama speech after killing of bin Laden:
"And so shortly after taking office, I directed Leon Panetta, the director of the CIA, to make the killing or capture of bin Laden the top priority of our war against al Qaeda, even as we continued our broader efforts to disrupt, dismantle, and defeat his network. Then, last August, after years of painstaking work by our intelligence community, I was briefed on a possible lead to bin Laden. It was far from certain, and it took many months to run this thread to ground. I met repeatedly with my national security team as we developed more information about the possibility that we had located bin Laden hiding within a compound deep inside of Pakistan . And finally, last week, I determined that we had enough intelligence to take action, and authorized an operation to get Osama bin Laden and bring him to justice. Today, at my direction, the United States launched a targeted operation against that compound in Abbottabad , Pakistan."

I was watching both times. George W. did it with class and gave credit where credit was due. BHO made it all about HIS decision making and HIS order, and oh by the way - there were some of our troops involved. He's such a self-important freak.
BetteJo~ SO true. (and, you make me laugh!)
Class vs. no class.
Nevertheless, republicans may have to find themselves an "Ă–bama" of their own to face the Obama of the Democrats, otherwise they could loose the 2012 elections. No kidding.
You can't send to the front battle, the usual republican stuff whose negligence to see the reality, brought about the election of BH Obama in the first place.
Not comparable unless you are an Obama hater. Bush made a 20 second speech, quoted in full here. Bush did not have any input or give any direction in the capture of Saddam. Troops found him in a spider hole. Lucky find.
On the other hand, the quote from Obama is cherry-picked from a 5 minute speech. Obama did have direct involvement in the mission that killed bin Laden. Everything quoted here is accurate and is needed to understand the nature of the mission from the standpoint of the national security team that approved the mission.
But then, you hate the new sheriff.
Can't reveal President BO's character. He has none.
Dan! Great to see you! and -- yep!
Duta~ You may be right about choosing 'an obama' of our own - if you mean someone w/ charisma, etc. It seems that the 'hollywood' mentality of so many in our culture has dumbed-down the population so, that it's the People (& perhaps the Republicans also) who can't tell an empty-suited shell of a man from a person from true substance anyway...
Jim! Oh, it's comparable alright...The hunt for SH was an ongoing battle-front effort that we were being 'briefed' on daily, for weeks so need for a long speech. The OBL search, while clearly happening behind closed doors across 2 Administrations, necessitated a more detailed explanation perhaps...or a was that a windbag was the one who presented it?) Either way -- one can clearly see which man is attributing credit to those who deserve it, and the one who is desperate to claim it for himself.
Funny...the only people who ever seem to claim 'hate' are those with their fingers pointing away from themselves.
Joe!! Was just thinking of you this morning. Hope you're doing okay. As we see, all he needs to do it open his mouth, & BHO reveals it for himself.
DUTA~ would you mind telling me the name of your town in Israel? Confidentially, of course. I don't want to ask you on your blog, or ask you to post it here -- maybe you wouldn't mind telling me via email?
I would like to add your town specifically to my prayers for Israel. If you'd rather not, it's ok. God knows, regardless.
(You can find my email in my profile sidebar.)
"they tend to reveal your character."
Yes, curious, inquisitive, engaged, willing to take counsel, careful, decisive...successful.
Jim! Simply self-deluded, dear friend, rather like the "one" about whom we're speaking. Oh, & let's ask BeBe Netanyahu what he thinks about Mr. "curious, inquisitive, engaged, willing to take counsel, careful, decisive..." I think Mr. 'willing to take counsel' got his "counsel" handed to him in a paper sack Friday morning...
BeBe in 2012!!!
God Save Israel.
Funny, Bebe's predecessor agreed with the policy put forward by Obama. So did Obama's 2 immediate predecessors.
Republicans have no short-term memory. They cannot remember what they or their leaders have said or advocated in the past. If Obama says it, it's the end of America as we know it.
As Newt admitted this week, anything he himself says is false. Pretty much goes for the rest of the GOP.
It's all about ODS. Almost every "socialist" policy Obama has put forward (and/or passed) has been a position of the GOP or one of its leaders in years past. Mandates, Cap & Trade, '67 borders, START, Medicare efficiencies. etc.
ODS.
@Jim~ Nobody here know's what the h@## you're talking about, Jim. You'll go on about your merry way, though...
I wonder, did BHO enjoy his lunch on Friday?
Obama derangement Syndrome. ODS.
BHO lunch-in-a-sack?
BHOLiS.
(i love it)
