Voluntary Taxation!

Great news!! The U.S. Government is not in the business of forcefully taking money from some people in order to provide Welfare to others. Get it? The gov't does not force people to pay taxes under penalty of fine or imprisonment. Wait...All this time I've been paranoid, thinking they were after everything they could get...I've been living an alternate reality. We've all lived an oppressive shared delusion! Now we have the truth...oh, the freedom! What relief! What joy! (This undated video has the proof - who knows how long we've been in a deluded fog?)

Sen. Majority Leader Harry Reid said it! "I don't think we force people [to pay taxes]...Our system of government is a voluntary tax system..." Oh, happy day! Off camera, he calls it the "Geithner/Daschle system." Now I understand...

He is such a buffoon. I think we all should play this for the IRS when we decide to stop paying.

By the way, did you catch my blog about my calls to the IRS asking for the laws that say we are required to pay income taxes? They gave me the run around. One guy even hung up on me.

Let some one fall short of paying 25 cents to the IRS!
I' d love to live where Reid does....LaLa Land!

But it's all a misunderstanding. It's a "phraseology" problem. Yeah, right. If we aren't forced to pay taxes, why are people jailed for failure to pay? If it's voluntary, failure to pay shouldn't merit any consequences, right?

Most of the pols in DC are corrupt to the core & elitist beyond belief. They actually believe that they can call welfare a "tax refund" and we'll believe it! It's way past time that we stop letting these jokers get away with this. You can't refund something that was never paid. And if you can be put in jail for NOT performing an action like paying taxes, that action is NOT voluntary. This is not an issue of semantics - it's called LYING!

Yes Sue, I get it but we are only in the few that do get it.

Great!!- now I don't have to finish my taxes - since it is voluntary. Everything that comes out of that man's mouth is a lie.

btw I couldn't find your blog with the same title as mine - just found this one.

hi - me again, on my blog you made the comment: "Hard to believe my blog could be titled the same as yours. UGH! Check it out sometime if you like." -your comment is found here: http://aredvoiceinabluestate.blogspot.com/2009/02/tax-time.html - so that is why I said I couldn't find your blog with the same title as mine??? I wasn't really sure what you meant???

Hi Red...dusting the cobwebs off my brain as quickly as I can...I remember now! Thanks for putting the pieces back together for me - what I meant was that my state has historically been red, & now it's ever-so-faintly blue. My voice (but not my blog title) is now a 'red voice in a blue state.' This blog - being conservative like yours -could be titled the same as yours, but isn't, as you can see. Sorry for the confusion!

Hi Susannah - ahhhh I see what you meant now - thanks for clearing that up :)

WHY IS REID SAYING THIS? Because he is half telling the truth.
Some taxes are 100% mandatory.
Some taxes are 100% voluntary
