Life ~ tender & sweet

Every so often, a person has to lighten up, ya know? (God seems to know just when I need to, & gives me a way.)

Yesterday, I got the sweetest chance I've had in a long time. Our 6 year old daughter lost both her two front teeth on a school field trip. And they even came home w/ the teeth...

& I happened to be at school when they got back...

& I happened to have my camera in my bag (for our 10 year old's Multiplication Tournament)...

When I saw her, she was standing in the midst of her teachers, the Principal & a small bunch of fascinated K'garteners. She was grinning from ear to ear, a big snaggle tooth smile, eager to show me her new mouth & take pictures.

Children lose teeth every day, I know. But to lose both her front teeth in the same day??

We know the Tooth Fairy is a busy pixie, but she had double duty at our house last night. Not to have Tooth Fairy out-done by Santa’s milk & cookies, our little Cookie even left her a hand-made ‘welcome’ letter, complete with an invitation to look under the pillow.

Life is a tender, sweet thing, dear friends. And time is fleeting.

Find the sweetness, soak it in, & smile!

Just in time to sing, "All I want for Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth!"

Cute.

That is awesome. Congratulations to her!!! Neither of the girls lost any teeth together - it was singles. My daughter has one that really needs to come out. I'm not the tooth puller in the house *blech* so she has to work on it herself. lol

My son is my 3rd and final too - you got me with that comment. *sniffl* Luckily he's still GETTING his teeth, so I have a few years yet before any loosing happens. Barring any adventures on his part that send them packing early.... eek!

Enjoy every minute. I have one that's 18 and 14, and 10. They grow up too quickly.

Take lots and lots of pictures.

Hi friends! Thank you so much for your comments:

Joe -one of them wasn't even very loose, so it may be Christmas!

Mel -I'm secretly glad I wasn't there - I'm not into teethpulling either...

USA -ain't it so! Glad you were here~

bluepit - What blessings you have! And I know about the growing...Our 12 year old is already taller than me...

C&L -glad to see you! I've sent some 2nd Amendt. people your way. Hope they found you!

RLR -Thanks! (Saw you this morning in the balcony. Your fam. looked darling!)

Z -You couldn't have said anything better! If you could see our kids & us, you'd see how very much they look like their Daddy. (Nobody gives me any credit!!) But, by golly, I think you're right about that smile... Yippee!

Fuzz - start a Tooth Fairy piggy bank now, you're gonna need it! :)

Thanks again, friends. Hope you all are having a Blessed, Glorious Easter!

That is the sweetest thing ever! Lydia lost her top two at the same time in my sister's swimming pool. My nephew dove to the bottom and found them! Tooth Fairy paid BIG! Good thing Meredith lost hers on Good Friday and not Saturday or else the Tooth Fairy could have bumped into the Easter Bunny!

That smile is so precious! When I see a smile like that, or hear a child's voice ... I cannot FATHOM giving someone so sweet and so precious and so important such a huge bill for our incompetence. Yet that's what these liberals want to do.

Thanks for your great posts! :)
