Very worried Terrier...

Ok, so Mr. Susannah is a deer hunter.

Back in December, he 'brought home' a buck, but not before taking it (well part of it...) to a taxidermist. So today, 6 1/2 months later, he brings 'the rest' home...and Otis has become very concerned...

I swear, at one point, Otis looked at us & said, "I knew reindeer could fly, but I didn't know they'd come through the wall!!"

Lovely scene! Otis's restlessness, his desperate attempts to reach for the deer on the wall are sad and yet entertaining.

Heh, heh!

A Terrible Terrier, indeed!

Oh Duta, it was really pitiful! The video didn't capture the worst of his crying, just most of the worry. By the time we thought to do the video, most of the barking was over.

What's really funny was 2-3 hours later, we went looking for Otis, who is usually right by our side...found him in the basement on the sofa, staring up at the deer. Daring it to move, I guess!

Crucis~ Fiesty, yes; terrible in his own mind only! ;) (unless you're a mole, chipmunk or squirrel!)

That's funny. My wife and I were on Ichat tonight (we both have Mac books) and she called Shadow while she was on video chat. Shadow licked my screen and looked around back to see how to get to her.

BP~ I LOVE that your pooch's name is Shadow. I don't think I knew that before. We had a fabulous Weimaraner named Shadow when I was a teenager.

Funny how even in 2D they still try to 'get to us.' Sometimes Otis watched TV - really! Dogs...I love dogs!

I really hafta wonder what Otis would do if he could actually get to the deer!

That is so funny! I love "through the wall".
BetteJoe's right; imagine if that deer suddenly MOVED? :-)

Cute. In Mr. Fredd's household, if Mr. Fredd came home with a deer head, Mrs. Fredd would chuck it in the dumpster faster than Mr. Fredd could say, 'honey, I've got a wonderful surprise for you...honey?...Honey?'

And Mr. Fredd would be sleeping in Otis's dog house for an indefinite period.

BetteJo~ I don't think Otis even knows what he would do it he could get to it!!

Z~ He has been watching for it to move, that's for sure!

Fredd~ Yes, well, there are 'hills to die on' and this wasn't it for me; especially since it's hanging in the basement - in my husband's man-cave, er office...
