Rufus Hussey Reprise...

Some days just call up memories of Rufus. Cool, crisp air; clear, clean blue sky; sunshine sparkling through the trees.

Today is one of those days...(taken from 3-25-09 GTBI post)

Okay in the comment section of last post, I came perfectly clean about my Southern-ness. Not that it was any secret, or anything; I think my name probably blows my cover pretty quick. :)

Anyway, here's a little treat that you just don't see anywhere, except in the American South. Watch & be amazed!

I'll s'wannee! If I believed in reincarnation - which I don't, mind you - I'd say this fella is 'David' all over again. You know, Goliath's David? For all you skeptics, I think maybe Rufus is God's way of showing how a little guy like David could've taken down that big 'ole Goliath!

I just love stories like this. Go get'em Rufus!

~~

Wishing you one of these days...

I KNOW...! "Asheboro" is only about 30 minutes from my house. Who knew there was such a celebrity in my very midst.

Quite a character this Rufus person! And he doesn't have a TV and telephone! Loved the video on him.

I had one growing up. Sling-shot in left hip pocket, batch of rocks in the right hip pocket.

I was never as good as Ol' Rufus but I did get my share of rabbits and squirrels.

Note: don't slip and fall on your butt when you have a large batch of rocks in your hip pocket. BTDT.

DUTA!! You're BACK! I'm so glad to see you here! Isn't Rufus just darling? Hope you had a nice 'break' & are back & refreshed.

Crucis~ Ha! My dad makes sling shots, too, & has made them for my sons. The other night, I picked up our oldest's sweatshirt & his sling shot and an entire baggie of his 'pebbles' fell all over the floor. (I'm all for boy stuff - just keep it off my hardwoods!) Oh, & I'll forward the warning about falling... ;)

Fuzz! We must be neighbors, then!! Very cool. ;)

Sarah~ So glad you've found us! I received that email, but don't quite 'get it.' Either way, I'm glad you came by here. Pull up a chair, stay a while!

BetteJo~ Amazing, right? ;) Btw, did you ever find yourself a vacuum cleaner?

Truly amazing.

USA! I know. Isn't he something? If you need another feel good-er, take a look @ 'Dogs gone wild' . It's the second one down in this post. I could watch it over & over!

Thanks for stopping by~

WOW! I DO feel a bit sorry for the rabbit, but then, I"m not from the South :-)

Z~ Oh, the rabbit...first - rabbits multiply like, well, rabbits...second, there's good reason that Mr. McGregor kept chasing Peter Rabbit out of his garden. It's because rabbits will eat everything down to the ground, flowers or veggies: pansies, vinca, loriope, monkey grass, tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, corn, herbs, onion, & on, & on, & on...

So no, I'm not worried too much about the rabbits. ;)
