The Fence Test: which side are you on?

Hi Friends! Here's a 'test' for you. Got this the other day through email. Read on & see on which 'side of the fence' you're sitting:

The Fence Test
If a conservative doesn't like guns, he doesn't buy one.

If a liberal doesn't like guns, he wants all guns outlawed, AND he makes you turn yours in to the Police.

If a conservative is a vegetarian, she doesn't eat meat.

If a liberal is a vegetarian, she wants meat products banned for everyone, & tries to guilt you into losing your appetite.

If a conservative is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation.

A liberal wonders who is going to take care of him, AND tries to make you feel guilty for your success.

If a conservative doesn't like a talk show host, she switches stations.

The liberal demands that those they don't like be shut down; 1st Amendment is only for them, you see.

If a conservative is a non-believer, he doesn't go to church.

A liberal non-believer wants to silence any mention of God or religion, unless it is practiced by a slim minority, of course.

If a conservative decides she needs health care, she shops for it, or chooses a job that provides it.
A liberal demands that all of us pay for hers.

If a conservative reads this, he'll smile a knowing smile & have a good laugh.

A liberal will click off in a huff, or post a snide comment it because he's "offended."

So, there's the fence. Which side are you on?

Oh how funny! I'm going to sit out in sub freezing weather with a strong possibility of snow tomorrow morning at 6 a.m. just so I can get five books signed by Sarah Palin at 7 p.m.!! Guess which side of the fence I'm on

LOL - GrandmaJ ... you're our kinda people!!!!!

Suz, this was very well said, and it captures the essence of liberalism. Control. It's all there in that single post. Liberals want control. They'll lie to get it. They'll cheat to get it and they want nothing better than to destroy all our remaining freedoms, replacing liberty with a huge, bloated nanny-state.

Let the GOP base have it their way for a change. Let them get their favorite candidate nominated (who in all probability is Palin). And let them lose overwhelmingly. Only then will they be so discredited that the GOP will be a forgotten party.. perhaps forever.

Napqueen, ain't gonna happen. The dems are out in the open now---all their lies exposed, all their plans published, we know what they are. We may not gain a majority in both houses, but we will gain enough to be able to block the evil they plan for this country. We may even be able to rollback some of the evil already done. We'll see.

2009 will be known as “the year of truth”

The Obama administration and the Democrat party are finally exposed as the crooks, lairs and criminals that they are.

The country was sick and tired of the scandals that plagued politics and took the socialists at their word that they would clean it up. Guess what, they didn’t. In fact it only got worse.

Then the “One” got up in front of the masses in a carefully crafted message of “Hope and Change” and all we got was “Change that we would never hope for”. But 2009, in spite of the crap legislation being forced down our throats, have offered a glimpse of change that we did not expect. First was the beginning of the downfall of the “House of ACORN”. We received that hope from a “grassroots” type effort of “citizen journalist” that did the job that the mainstream media failed, or blatantly refused to do.

The ACORN sting videos were a refreshingly effective effort to expose a criminal enterprise that has plagued this country in the guise of “helping the poor and downtrodden” by voting scandals, electioneering and abuse of non-profit status to further hide their dirty deeds.

The other Hope of change came from an illegal hacker that single handedly brought the massive fraud of “Global Warming” to its knees and have the alarmist scurrying for anything positive to keep their efforts afloat ahead of the Copenhagen summit.

Obama has thrown his hat into the ring by announcing (after the hoax was exposed) that he would travel to the summit and pledge America’s participation of cutting carbon emissions by 17% of 2005 levels. This is a desperate ploy to lend credibility to the organization that is going to die (they just don’t know it yet) by having the great orator pack his teleprompter and give the speech of his socialist life.

There is one other “Nobel Prize” winner that just announced that he would NOT be attending the summit after high priced advanced ticket sales – Al Gore. I guess he could stand the thought of all the “heat” he would get if he attended! Oh yeah I also forgot to mention his Oscars.

If you think that the UN scandal “Oil for money” scheme was big, this scandal has eclipsed that one by Trillions of dollars.

To top off the above scandals we cannot forget the following 2009 Democrat corruption:

1) Democrat mayor from Baltimore found guilty of perjury and corruption.
2) Ex Democrat Representative William “Cold Cash” Jefferson found guilty.
3) Democratic Mayor of Birmingham convicted of bribery and corruption.
4) Democrat Mayor of Detroit convicted of perjury.
5) John Murtha under investigation by Senate Ethics Committee.

I could go on and on with the list, but you get the picture. 2010 will be a banner year for “booting out” incumbents of both parties in an effort to clean house and instill politicians that will listen to constituents instead of treating us as rubes.

Well Said Julie. I am hopeful, but not as optimistic as you. There have been no shocking revelations about our president since his inauguration. The truth of the matter is that he should still be sneaking around underneath a rock somewhere with his ACORN buddies finding houses for under-age-prostitute pimps. The fact that he is now in the White House doesn't bode well for any of us... I fear.

Liberals specialize in being offended. It's their favorite whine.

I love how relevant they like to be in commenting. Like napqueen, for example.

Mostly they just like to throw insults. They really don't know any better

GrandmaJ~ I can't STAND it!! Did you get your books signed? Did you MEET Sarah Palin?? PLEASE tell!

RWL~ Our kinda people, indeed!! :) RWL - control & power, yes. And all under the guise of 'good intentions,' b/c we're not smart enough to run our own lives. Even under the most benign of motives, liberalism is terribly condescending.

Hi Nap~ Glad you came by. Haven't seen you in a while. As for conservative going the way of the dodo bird...Have you seen Prince Obama's poll #'s lately? ;)

Crucis~ Glad to see you! As for your comment: Bingo.

Julie~ Welcome back! Great comment! I think it's just rediculous, the backflips that people are doing to try & continue down the 'global warming' path. How stupid do they think we are???
(See the last sentence in response to RWL's comment.)

YOU ARE A LIAR OBAMA!
Lie: "I will not sign a plan that adds one dime to our deficits either now or in the future. Period."
Fact: CBO Scoring says the plans on the table will add at least $200 Billion in deficits over ten years. Beyond 2020, the scoring gets even worse.

Lie: "Nothing in this plan will require you or your employer to change the coverage or the doctor you have."
Fact: The CBO says at least 3,000,000 people will lose their coverage under any of the plans being put forth.

Lie: "Don't pay attention to those scary stories about how your benefits will be cut. ... That will never happen on my watch. I will protect Medicare."
Fact: Obama and congressional Democrats want to pay for their health care plans in part by reducing Medicare payments to providers by more than $500 billion over 10 years...

Lie: "Under our plan, no federal dollars will be used to fund abortions."
Fact: The Capps-Wasman Amendment to House Bill 3200 explicitly allows the Secretary of HHS to subsidize abortions with Federal funds as part of the public option. Democrats have voted against amendments to block abortion funding under the House Bill.

Beachmom~ Excellent points, all. Thanks! See, we're smarter than they think; we can do simple math!

Dan~ I agree. His lack of 'shame' at being outed for who he really is, just speaks to his sense of entitlement to bring about the 'change' he thinks we need - and his utter disdain for the American way of life. We can't get rid of him fast enough...

Fuzz~ Let's hope that someone rises to the occasion. Palin would be great, though I'm not dead set on her (as MUCH as I admire her). All I'm sayin' is that we need somebody to represent us. We're sure not being represented in the WH, or in Congress.

Joe~ I'll beg to differ on one point: 'they' DO know better, but just don't care. You see, they're entitled (that word again) to dis anyone who doesn't agree w/ them. So much for 'tolerance' of 'diversity.' Blah, blah, blah.

Kody~ Glad to see you here. Please come back again!

BeachMom, apparently you are a liar or you are believing liars.

LIE: "CBO Scoring says the plans on the table will add at least $200 Billion in deficits over ten years."

FACT: That's absolutely false and anyone who can read or watch TV can tell you that the CBO says deficits will be REDUCED by from $81B to $127B.

LIE: "The CBO says at least 3,000,000 people will lose their coverage under any of the plans being put forth."

FACT: Heritage foundation says something along these lines but provides no sourcing for it. This has apparently been pulled out of somebody's butt. Please show me the CBO source for this claim and I will accept it.

"Fact: Obama and congressional Democrats want to pay for their health care plans in part by reducing Medicare payments to providers by more than $500 billion over 10 years..."

Yes and many, including AARP support that plan. Did you see 60 Minutes a couple of weeks ago about the billions of dollars of Medicare wasted through outrageous fraud? Cleaning up this alone will produce substantial savings with no impact on Medicare recipients.

LIE: "The Capps-Wasman[think you mean Waxman] Amendment to House Bill 3200 explicitly allows the Secretary of HHS to subsidize abortions with Federal funds as part of the public option."

FACT: Rep. Capps says, "As I mentioned earlier, under my amendment no federal funds may be used to pay for abortions that are not allowed by current law (the Hyde Amendment, which makes exceptions in the case of rape, incest, or to protect the life of the woman). The only funds that may be used to pay for other abortion services are from private funds generated by the policyholders' premiums, whether the policyholder is covered by a private plan or the public option."

"Democrats have voted against amendments to block abortion funding under the House Bill." You guys are already complaining about the length of the bill. Why add more pages when the bill and the Capps-Waxman amendments already specifically forbid funding abortions from public funds. Republican amendments' only purpose is to restrict abortions further that current law.

Jim, sorry to break it to you but the very last thing we are seeing is transparency that was promised. ” Lets hurry, no time to discuss or read it…. the sky is falling and we must do something now.. don’t read it, it will take too much time… sign it now”. This makes no sense to sensible men and women, whether Democratic or Republican or anyone else. The real
message is that if this is pushed through and is the expensive( all studies show it will cost more) you, dear senator or congressman will N O T be re-elected. Isn’t it time for a little long term planning, Mr politician?

Do you or anybody else out there think that the President or congress will be on the health plan they want to stick is with? The answer is, of course NO! National health care will get worse by the day if its enacted, because by then we won’t be able to get away from it. Theses only one sensible answer to our problems, and that is SECESSION from the Union. Its no longer a union of states, its a dictatorship from Washington DC!!!
If you want to know whether of not the proposed health plan is good for the American public, ask why congress is exempt for it. why doesn’t Obama simply expand congress’s health care program to include all Americans? who is he trying to fool? The same ones who voted for him?

BeachMom is right! It’s amazing that our representatives can lie to us like this!

Jim said...

The Senate Health Care Bill was released Nov 18. Unless I'm mistaken, that's 18 days ago. The bill in many of it's forms was negotiated in committees with Republican members for months prior to Nov 18th. The House Bill was released in October or about 35 or so days ago.

Republicans and Democrats have been negotiating these bills in committees for MONTHS. This so-called concern about an unwarranted push to pass health care reform without reading what's in it is just so much bull shit. If your senator or congressman can't read and analyze this legislation by now, they need to stop bitching and start reading.

"Do you or anybody else out there think that the President or congress will be on the health plan they want to stick is with?"

This is more bunk. There is no "plan" that everyone will be "stuck" with. There will be insurance exchanges now quite similar to what all federal employees get now. And only a relatively small number of people will be eligible for the public plan. The President is a totally different thing and his health care bares no relevance to the conversation.

"Theses only one sensible answer to our problems, and that is SECESSION from the Union."

Knock yourself out.

"ask why congress is exempt for it." Show me something that says they are.

"why doesn’t Obama simply expand congress’s health care program to include all Americans?"

He should. It's called single payer health care. That's your bogeyman, but that's what Medicare is. It would be great to expand Medicare eligibility to all.

Hey Jim would you like some Frosty Flakes with your Koolaide?

BetteJo said...

Frosty Flakes! Haven't heard them called that since I was a kid. :)

I am surprised by how naive people are who still take what the government says at face value. You would think our elected officials never twist meanings or leave things out - or flat out lie to the people who put them in office.

The short-sightedness is breath-taking as well.

As we now know, Tiger Woods is a liar and a cheat, but he became popular and wealthy from the talent he exhibited on the golf course for all to see. His talent is real. Barack Obama has never done anything to deserve the office he holds or the accolades he has received. To say people were duped into believing this man had the background to be president of the U.S. is to imply that these individuals cannot think and reason. Sorry, I'm not letting anyone who voted for Obama on "faith" get away with it. They are just plain stupid and easily deceived. If I sound bitter, I am. Our country is going down the tubes and we have so many to blame for this it can't help but make your stomach turn.

Clearly, there are better conversations here when I'm gone for a few days, than when I'm here...Wow!

Jim~ I appreciate you coming by, but please do mind your language. Some of your imagery has been rather coarse this go 'round.

Anyone who can do elementary math HAS to acknowledge that IF our deficits aren't HUGELY impacted by Obamacare, our TAXES WILL BE. Frankly, I don't see much of a difference. They're equally evil; and I do mean that literally.

Also, I just did a little research on the disparities betwn what you & Beachmom are saying...Trouble is, nobody knows how this behemoth will affect our healthcare system, b/c NOBODY is willing to take the time to study the impact that various changes will have. Even when an organization makes changes in a measured, apolitical, even-handed, serious manner, there are unintended consequences. The way things are being pushed through in an apparent panic (to get their way, not panic to 'reform the system'), NOBODY KNOWS the consequences - intended or otherwise.

I'm not willing to bet mine & my children's children's financial future on "good faith" of politicians' mad drive to push their personal agenda. Not willing to do it.

Jim said, "Did you see 60 Minutes a couple of weeks ago about the billions of dollars of Medicare wasted through outrageous fraud? Cleaning up this alone will produce substantial savings with no impact on Medicare recipients."

My point, exactly! You do realize that these are GOVERNMENT RUN PROGRAMS. How is it even possible to believe that if these programs are so fraught with fraud, that a 'public option' (gov't healthcare) WON'T be???? It just defies all rational thinking logic.

So, for CRYING OUT LOUD, clean up Medicare first! Then take on Medicaid. Then take a HARD look @ Social Security...I think we'd just about wipe out all deficits. But NOOOOOOOOOOO! Liberals won't hear of that. Why, that would make too much sense, and also cause the gov't to challenge it's long-standing dependency-fostering model of citizen-relations. Please. They're all starting to make me sick. All of em.

JoeCit~ Thanks for stopping by. Transparency, indeed. Dictatorship from Wash. DC - um, yeah.

Jim~ "Republicans and Democrats have been negotiating these bills in committees for MONTHS."
No. Dems. have had closed door meetings, refusing to even consider Rep. amendments or voices. That's not what I'd call healthy debate. AND when the American people voiced their opinions @ town halls for the entire month of Aug., they berated, belittled & dismissed us out of hand.

Dictatorship from Washington DC, indeed!

"'why doesn’t Obama simply expand congress’s health care program to include all Americans?'"

First, I think JoeCit's question is rhetorical. Second, to answer it I'll use a few of your quotes, Jim.
"He should. It's called single payer health care. That's your bogeyman, but that's what Medicare is."

and then, "billions of dollars of Medicare wasted through outrageous fraud?"

Bogeyman = MediCare = Outrageous Fraud

Jim, "It would be great to expand Medicare eligibility to all."

therefore,

"It would be great to expand outrageous fraud eligibility to all."

Sounds like a legitimate single-payer bogeyman to me, Jim. I'll let your own words resonate here...

Susannah said...

NewYork! Thanks for coming by! Quirky little ideas flying to & fro around here, huh? Like I said - I'm gone 2 days & things heat up like nobody's business!

BetteJo~ Frosty Flakes & kool-aid? Yuk! Though, I can't even do milk these days; hasta be 'Silk' if I have cereal @ all.

"take what the government says at face value...The short-sightedness is breath-taking as well."
Like I was saying - complete & utter lack of appreciation for unintended consequences (w/ the best of all motives).

RepGrl~ Cheer up a bit, sweetheart. We're on to 'em, & we're not lettin' them off the hook so fast. Besides, hope is always on the horizon - but it bears no resemblance to a man in a dark suit who calls himself BHO. See my next post later this week, ok?

RWL~ Quite a conversation you all have had going here!
"look at what just happened with regard to the offer to throw out the public option"

Please tell me what you mean. I'm out of the loop. Thanks.

Health care costs will tax the middle class and burden our children with insurmountable debt; for what, short term Democratic political gain? If cost savings is the claim then first cut one dollar from Health and Human Services or any government program without a whimper. The facts are that it will not be done yet the savings will be claimed despite a hugely higher deficit and government expansion in reality. Cost savings of a government health care system is a lie.
