Things that make you go hmmm...?

I THINK IT IS REMARKABLE THAT WITHIN A WEEK OF TIGER WOODS CRASHING HIS
ESCALADE, THE PRESS FOUND EVERY WOMAN WITH WHOM TIGER HAS HAD AN AFFAIR IN THE LAST FEW YEARS, WITH PHOTOS, TEXT MESSAGES, RECORDED PHONE CALLS, ETC.
AND, THEY NOT ONLY KNOW THE CAUSE OF THE FAMILY FIGHT, BUT THEY EVEN KNOW IT WAS A WEDGE FROM HIS GOLF BAG THAT HIS WIFE USED TO BREAK OUT THE WINDOWS IN THE ESCALADE. NOT ONLY THAT, THEY KNOW WHICH WEDGE!

AND EACH AND EVER DAY, THEY GIVE AMERICA MORE UPDATES ON HIS SEX-REHAB STAY, HIS WIFE'S PLANS FOR DIVORCE, AND HIS PLANS TO RETURN TO THE PRO-GOLF CIRCUIT.

On the other hand...

OBAMA HAS BEEN IN OFFICE FOR OVER A YEAR NOW,
AND THIS SAME PRESS STILL CANNOT LOCATE HIS OFFICIAL BIRTH CERTIFICATE, OR ANY OF HIS PAPERS WHILE IN COLLEGE,
OR HOW HE PAID FOR A HARVARD EDUCATION,
OR WHICH COUNTRY ISSUED HIS VISA TO TRAVEL TO PAKISTAN IN THE1980'S AS BARRY SORETORO...AND EVEN MICHELLE OBAMA'S PRINCETON THESIS ON RACISIM...IT JUST CANT BE FOUND?

YET … THE PUBLIC STILL TRUSTS THAT SAME PRESS TO GIVE THEM
THE WHOLE TRUTH . . .

TRULY REMARKABLE!

Curtsy to A.C. Thanks!

DeanO~ Welcome! Interesting, I suppose. Animal, absolutely!

It's going to do what's in the best interest of the president. His popularity is still low in all polls so throwing tiger under the bus is a logical choice for the media's darling.

I'm not sure how many people in North America (and Europe, for that matter) 'TRUSTS THAT SAME PRESS TO GIVE THEM THE WHOLE TRUTH'

I think a fair few people are well aware that the media is agenda-driven and has long-lost any kind of objectivity or journalistic ethic.

The difference between the two cases is that one involves sex, and sex sells. How much digging was done after Clinton's 'indiscretion' in the Oval Office? I guarantee you that if Obama ever gets caught cheating on his wife the press will go out of their way to learn every little secret.

Who paid for his Harvard education? Well, that's just boring, isn't it?

And just in case my position isn't clear, I do think that the press should more actively and honestly investigate issues that are of actual importance, should stop with the pissing contest games between MSNBC and Fox, should make clear the difference between 'news' and 'comment' and should generally do their jobs better.

Seems to be the libs and state media usual business practices: unfair and unbalanced.

Did Fox News not cover the Tiger Woods 'story'?

Hmmm. Priorities. A bit out of whack I'd say.

THIS SAME PRESS STILL CANNOT LOCATE HIS OFFICIAL BIRTH CERTIFICATE

This is false. It's also untrue. Furthermore, it is a lie. The official birth certificate has been produced and verified many times over.

I am so disappointed in you Susannah to find that you are apparently still a birther.

Bluepit~ They'll do anything to distract from Hussein's mockery of the POTUS, right?

Matt! Welcome back! 'TRUSTS THAT SAME PRESS TO GIVE THEM THE WHOLE TRUTH'
Of course we don't trust them! But we should be able to trust them...THAT's the point; & it is, after all supposed to be the charge of their vocation, no?

Yes - sex sells - always, above all else (I'd make an observation about our human nature here, but that's for another post).

However..."I guarantee you that if Obama ever gets caught...the press will go out of their way to learn every little secret."

Wrong. Dead WRONG. They'll go out of their way to HIDE ever little secret...just as they did in the examples used in this post, INCLUDING the origins of Harvard tuition - dry as that subject may be.

Makes ME raise an eyebrow...if those are such 'boring,' NON-issues, why the heroic effort to bury them - when the American people have a RIGHT to know (boring or not) and the press has an OBLIGATION to report?

hmmm? Thus the title of this piece.

Crucis~ Welcome back to you too! Status quo, indeed.

Matt~ You're missing the point if you think the post is about Tiger Woods. (I couldn't give a flip about Tiger Woods.) As you said, sex sells, so of course Fox covered it. The point is, actually, the disparity between the coverage vs. the importance of the 'stories.' And yes, Fox did a swat of a lot more coverage of Hussein's past than anyone else - & is STILL being derided & ridiculed for it (shhhhuuut uuuupp! Don't you know you can't expose Prince Hussein?)

BetteJo, Darling! So glad to see you. Priorities, alright...

Jim dear~ "CANNOT LOCATE HIS OFFICIAL BIRTH CERTIFICATE"
um, well...I'm not altogether convinced; just 'raising an eyebrow,' like I said to Matt. But I'm not one to make a bru-ha-ha about it (a la 'birther'). What's done is done...

"I am so disappointed in you Susannah to find that you are apparently still a birther."

I'm so disappointed in you, Jim, to find that you are still an Obamaphile.

I'm not altogether convinced

Then you ARE a birther. No sane, credible organization doubts the President's citizenship. Even NewsMax (which doesn't fit the above criteria) has thrown in the towel.

you are still an Obamaphile. Not sure how you define the term, Suz, but I have no reason to hate him or think that he is any of the "ists" you and your crowd claim he is.

My only disappointment with the President is that he has governed too much from the center. He should have given up on "bipartisanship" by March of 2009. I don't think he's been liberal enough nor aggressive enough in carrying out his agenda.

And believe me, I'm a liberal, but I'm not "far left" by any means.

Jim dear~ "Even NewsMax...has thrown in the towel." Like I said, what's done is done. Not wasting energy on it.

"And believe me, I'm a liberal"
Wha?! Shocker.

"but I'm not 'far left' by any means."
...heh, heh. Not sure how you define THAT term.

Oh wait, yes I do: "My only disappointment with the President is that he has governed too much from the center" = Far Left opinion.

"He should have given up on 'bipartisanship' by March of 2009."
I see you've been out of the country, & missed the 'bipartisan' soiree. Or maybe you don't know the term 'reconciliation?'

*please*
