In which MSNBC's Keith Olbermann gives voice

Oh boy.
Just so you know, MSNBC's Keith Olbermann is at it too. In a feat of daring, he invites world renowned Historian, Neuroscientist, Psychiatrist & Potentate over all Women's Issues Janine Garafalo (oops! I forgot Melonie's "uber-cool activist") to postulate & theorize on tax Tea Parties.

Sorry Keith, Janine, but you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. You guys are the 'fomenters.' Did you even GO to a Tea Party? I'll not even try to defend myself against the racism accusation. People who know me, know. As I said...sneering, smug, dismissive...

Enough said.

Grab your air sick bags before you watch this one, folks.

"Potentate over all women's issues".... love it. HAHAHA.

HA.

That woman is delusional with a capital "D".

Here's what I find interesting:

Keith Olbermann, who is supposed to be, I guess, some kind of "expert" news analyst, is asking some second rate failed comedienne for advice on how to silence Americans who don't agree with him.

As if she'd know. I'll bet neither of them have ever read the Constitution.

If they have, they certainly don't understand it.

I saw this - I seriously could not watch it again. Such hateful rhetoric - makes me sick.

This is nice: an actress/comic nobody cares about anymore getting interviewed by a TV personality nobody takes seriously on a show that nobody watches.

You can tell the Tea Parties ratteld the left by the hysterical way the keep telling each other that it was just a "fringe" thing.

Garafalo is about as stupid as they come when it come to political commentary, as she is knee-jerk, thoughtless, and predictable.

The tea parties about racism? Give me an ever-lovin-blue-eyed break!

Keith Olbermann is a journalist in the same sense that Elmer Fudd is a journalist...or maybe Goofy.

One would wonder why they invited Garofalo.Like someone mentioned above, she is a nobody and i wonder when she became the expert on womens issues

Thanks for checking in on me.I think my slumps are directly related to my running injuries !

Susannah, I left an answer over at my blog.

As for Jeanine, I don't care for her politically. She is too far left for me. And I wouldn't consider her an expert on anything. But she has an opinion. And it's as valid as, say, Laura Ingraham on O'Reilly's show.

I don't know why you women elected Ms. Garafalo to represent all of your interests. She already had a lot on her plate. Geez...she is only one women. And a dim bulb at that.

Thanks for the great comments folks!
Mel~ better make that a double! oh, & did you see my comment re: 'separated @ birth' @ the "Potentate" link? :)

Mark~ Silencing Americans who don't think like them is what the MSM is all about it appears.

BetteJo~ Once was enough for me, too.

PJ!~ The irony is kinda funny, huh? You're right about the "hysterical" part. My husband & I were watching the Susan Roesgen clip today & that's the exact word we used. She was wild-eyed & down right hysterical in her attack of that poor guy w/ his toddler.

Joe~ You're right; she's predictable. All the MSM are at this point. That's why they're very quickly becoming irrelevant. But hey, they have no one but themselves to blame. Or maybe Elmer Fudd...

Fras~ I think her 'expert' distinction on Women's issues is self-appointed. Oh, & Babe, it's time to get back to Pilates, don't you think? :)

Jim~ I'll come by & see the comment. Thanks. Certainly, Ms.G has the right to an opinion. It's what she's doing w/ it that bugs me. She's pontificating, sneering, & besmirching in order to (as Mark says) SILENCE those she knows nothing about (& those she fears/can't control). It's EXACTLY the same thing they did to Sarah Palin (see the "Potentate" link), & what the rest of the MSM is doing to the Tea Party folks (see post previous to this). I'm SICK of their entitled, elitist, sneering attitude - calling it journalism. It's not flyin' here anymore.

KOOK!~ I know. We tried to tell her she was taking on too much. She's just such a giver...

There is a word for Garofalo: disgusting.

Jim said...

Have you seen Laura Ingraham sneer? She's REALLY good at it.

There are people on both sides who rub people the wrong way (on both sides). You should be happy that very, very few people are listening to Garofalo. I'm unhappy that so many people are exposed to Ingraham.

Cappy said...

I didn't know Garafolo was still alive. Well, I'm off to foment.

Susannah said...

Mustang~ I'm sorry, could you be a little more direct? Not sure I understood...

Jim~ Laura does have a good sneer, doesn't she? She does go over the top from time to time (not like the nit-wit in the clip, though; sheesh). The difference, in my mind, is that L. Ingraham is swimming mightily against the rip-currents, challenging the 'establishment' of MSM. She uses whatever she can in order to keep her head above water. Garafalo, et. al. are coasting w/ the current, trying desperately to SILENCE (there's Mark's word again) & drown-out anything that challenges their ideology. Me? I'm pullin' for the underdog here, esp. b/c she champions people like me. And if she's heard by gazillions of people, well yippee!

Cap~ Glad she's still alive, though the last time anybody saw her was on the series finale of "Mad About You" right? And by all means...foment away!!

Actually, we had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with Ingraham...she's adorable and one of the most 'real' 'celebs' we've met.
Since when did speaking our minds earn us derision and hate?

Susannah, I'm so glad you liked the video at my place..terrific, isn't it.

Garofalo is so elitist and ugly....it's pretty bad when a party's in COMPLETE control and still feels this scared and derisive. WHY? What are they scared OF? That somebody's going to take their power away?

Did you hear Obama in a speech this morning asked about his foreign policy and he said "you mean OBAMAISM?" Yup...I cringe.

I have a cuz in NYC/CT whose maiden name is Garofalo..she's a total America-loving conservative and horrified because she uses her business name at her company!!!!

Puke time!

Jim said...

I think you are confusing Garofalo with someone who matters. She in fact is not a big fan of Obama and has a lot of complaints about him and his policies. Granted she's coming from way left, but that's what she is. I think Coulter is every bit as disgusting, rude, and elitist as you accuse Garofalo of being. Only Coulter has beautiful long, blonde hair and no tattoos, visible anyway.

I'd love to see a clip of Obama saying something about "Obamaism". Wonder what the context of that is.

Super post Susannah, I saw your comment at our friend DD2's blog. That was another super blog as was your comment there.

Why do you guys watch this stuff? It has no educational value and some of us take blood pressure meds...

It is good to illustrate one giant, all-encompassing, nebulous point:

We have academics, statistics (real ones), and enlightened people. They have actors, comedians, frustrated radicals, and 60's druggies on their side.

Funny how back in 2003 when she was on KO's show to discuss criticism from the right of protests of Bush and the war she said that not supporting the liberal protests were "inappropriate responses to dissent" and an "Archie Bunker, anti-intellectual way to treat dissent". Funny.

Garafalo plays a liberal on "24"

Type casting.

Z~ I'm so envious of you getting to meet Laura I. What a treat!

Im Here~ Thanks for coming by!! Join us again!

Jim~ Plenty of people listen to her, esp. disaffected women.

Bob~ So glad you came by! See you soon.

Bluepit~ "Why do you guys watch this stuff?" It just makes for such good fun!

Sandy~ Thanks for the tip on the Jan. Garf. Here's the video:

Joe~ We've been DVR-ing 24, but haven't had time to watch it. You're making me rethink whether we will or not...

Have a good day, all!

Well, as upset as I was when I had my shots of Garafalo that evening *urf, hold on....airsick bag *

Okay, anywho - the commentary here has really given me a good chuckle. I don't even know most of the folks here but I've just gotta give out some big hug cyber-hugs. Especially for the BP med comment...SO TRUE.

Susannah - I hadn't made it back over yet, I will go check out that comment as well.

Oh and as for the Anthem - you don't have to if you're indoors...however, my kids do it each time they hear it. Which is an insane number of times when I'm proofreading. However, it's good training. Especially since my 21 month old stops whatever he's doing and hops to. ;-)

Hiya - there's a new development in the American terrorist/extremist market:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090421/ap_on_go_ca_st_pe/us_domestic_terrorist

I was just wondering yesterday why nobody was pointing out the amount of damage (to property and other people's rights) groups like this one do. Turns out it's approx $110 MILLION... give or take.

I admit to a little chuckle picturing the look on the face of the FBI rep who got to release this one. I know I'd be smirking.
